CMS Editors

CMS like WordPress offer the use of several different types of online editor such as Gutenberg, Elementor and the Classic Editor. While Gutenberg and Elementor can make it easy for newbies to create web pages, they can complicate the addition of the [shortcode] that is embedded to display your page/media in an iFrame. If there is an option for TEXT view then use it. In any case where your shortcode is getting corrupted (protected page/media doesn't show) then we recommend installing and using the Classic Editor for Guest Video pages. [Top]

CMS Plugins

Currently there is a CMS type plugin available for WordPress and others may be avaiable as and when their demand warrants the effort. [Top]

Copy Protection

The copy protection provided by the Guest Video solution is second to none. Unlike other solutions that are dependent on JavaScript and its limitations and popular web browsers that were designed at cross purpose, the copy protection that Guest Video utilizes has no comparison because it is an end to end solution especially designed to copy protect web content. It begins at the back end on our server to encrypt web pages especially for ArtisBrowser, the only web browser that can decrypt those pages and while on display, those pages are most securely protected from absolutely all avenues of copy and exploit.

Most website owners are only looking to prevent screenshots. Well screenshots are only the tip of the iceberg that threatens intellectual property, and Guest Video has all options for save, copy, download prevented. In fact the list is too long for here and most of it you will not know about. But we have it all covered. After all it was ArtistScope who invented copy protection for the web in 1998 and has since been the developer of every innovation that you can find today. [Top]

DRM Tokens

Our DRM tokens are most sophisticated and cannot be exploited. Each token will allow the use of 1-3 computer/devices depending on the author's settings. When a token is claimed it is assigned to the user and their unique device signature is recorded against their account, thus preventing any other user from using the same token. [Top]

However there are limitations with DRM tokens in that they are designed to work with standalone pages and that applying DRM to pages that will be used in the WordPress plugin is likely to cause access problems to confound most "web developers". Consequently DRM can only be applied to web pages and not to media files that will be used by our WordPress plugin.

DRM Tokens can be applied to individual pages or to a Collection of pages to encompass all pages in a particular course. [Top]

File Security

Media files that you upload are stored on our servers and protected from direct dowbload, ie: they can only be accessed for viewing on the page that we deliver for your protected page and iFrame. While those pages are on display in ArtisBrowser there is no means available for saving, copying or downloading the media file and their location is not available from view-source of the page. Artisbrowser is the only app that can decrypt the web page and display its contents. All other apps are redirected for the download of ArtisBrowser. Attempts to foil the ArtisBrowser requirement will always fail because the real ArtisBrowser is required to decrypt the web page. [Top]

Media Types

The types of media that can be uploaded include PDF, video and all image types (.gif, .jpeg, .jpg and .png). Video files must be .mp4 and of good quality. [Top]

Online Sales

If you are selling subscriptions to online courses then you will find a variety of membership type plugins available for your CMS. But if you are using Guest Video for its standalone pages (no website required) then subscriptions can be managed by using our DRM Tokens. Then when you make a sale you simply add a new token for the new subscriber for them to be emailed instructions, etc. In fact, for WordPress we provide an additional plugin that integrates with WooCommerce to automate that process after each successful sale. Page Content

Guest Video delivers standalone web pages that can also be displayed via our CMS plugin to embed them into web pages on your web site. Those pages can include a variety of media including images, PDF and video to create sophisticated presentations and tutorials. However those pages must be created from your dashboard at guest.video which provides a most sophisticated online editor, perhaps more sophisticated than any available in your CMS. [Top]

Protection Settings

The copy protection settings applied to PAGES is different to those applied to embedded MEDIA. When you create a PAGE from your dashboard at guest.video you will see that DRM, copy protection and watermarking can be applied uniquely for each page... the default settings for watermarking properties, OS/devices allowed to access, DRM expiration, etc are then governed by the default settings in your guest.video dashboard. When DRM is applied then the DRM settings applied are those that you designate for each token.

For all MEDIA that is embedded into pages on your website, the default settings in your guest.video dashboard will apply. This means that if you opt to only allow Windows computers (for use in a corporate network) then that restriction will apply to all content embeded via the Guest Video plugin. [Top]

Scale and Proportions

Pages and media will recalculate proportions automatically to adjust to the current available space. Most of that is performed automataically by JavaScript but may be enhanced in the case of video where the actual width and height has been recorded during upload. For PDF the A4 portrait size will be used in all cases. Images will rescale to 100% of their width regardless. Video size can be adjusted by editing the width and height of the video entry located from your Files page. [Top]
